Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American broadcaster. She is an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation occasionally. She started working at ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bi-lingual and has been for a long time, starting at when she was nine years old. The ability to speak two languages allowed her to land her first job at Univision, Miami. She could work as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. It was the CBS station in St. Petersburg hired her following this to become the sports reporter. In 2009 she moved to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as an investigative reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. She covered stories about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking in both Texas as well as Mexico. She was also frequently required to act as an anchor for sports and weather. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate where she took on more duties. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Apart from that she was also the host and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was anchor for the sports segment of Despierta America Deportes morning show. The anchor also worked in the same role for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network as well as Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd the 22nd of November, 1985, in Mexico City. There is also an older sister. There is an older sibling. Within a brief time her father separated from her mother. She then remarried in 1995 a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died of kidney cancer in 2006. In June of 2006, she took one week with her sibling at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working at the time. Antonietta still a senior at high school but she had a clear idea of the path she was looking for. When she was deciding whether Mount Union is the right choice for her, Antonietta decided to go visit the campus. The result was that she enjoyed the university as well as the fact that it provided the degree she was looking for. She graduated from school and was went to the university with a media studies major. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU in which she's a member. They formed a strong relationship. He encouraged her to be self-confident and his passion for journalism deeply influenced her, and she determined to live up to the expectations of him and not let him down.
